On December 26th Doug Ford imposed new lockdown measures to suppress Covid numbers, at that time using “modelling data” to scare Ontarian’s into accepting the lockdown. Claiming Ontario would have 10000 cases a day by mid January. The numbers did not climb to those levels. He made Ontario the only jurisdiction in North America to close ski and tubing hills based on two false details. 1-Hospital overload, which was non existent in the areas where skiing was happening (some resorts have been open since October 31). 2-Travel to these regions to eat at restaurants and visit shops, both of which are closed province wide.

We started this journey with the right goal of reversing Doug Ford’s closure of ski hills and tubing hills in Ontario. Because skiing, snowboarding, and tubing is not only the safest sport to perform during Covid, it’s also one of the best sports available for the support of mental health. Mental health is on the decline in Ontario and suicide rates are increasing.

We need to act now to promote this message as far and wide as we can to stop Doug Ford from keeping the hills closed any longer. He will continue to push the end date of the lockdowns and will devastate the skiing industry. Already $90000000.00 lost in just four weeks with many millions more to be lost while the hills continue to spend on grooming and snow creation, while Ford gives hope of their return on January 23rd.

This is a lack of leadership. We should stand for allowing people to perform sport that is inherently safe.

We need to sign the petition: http://chng.it/wL2mgvkq

We need to sign the letters: https://www.saveourskiing.ca/

We need to say NO! to keeping the hills closed.
Please share, like, and sign.
Thank you all for your support.
