Hello Everyone,

We decided not to share any updates as we await the new ONA contracts. However, we came across some news articles that is very distressing to nurses. Instead of offering current employed nurses in hospitals bonuses or significant wage increases there is one hospital in Ontario recruiting nurses from outside of Canada and Ontario $75,000 cash bonuses.

STOP putting Band-Aids over the nursing shortage issues. Nurses in Ontario are quitting their jobs because they feel under appreciated. The hospitals can find money to offer incentive pay to doctors to act as nurses at $400/hr, recruit non Ontario nurses for $75,000 and pay staffing agencies upwards of $120/hr. When will ONA nurses see monetary incentives to remain loyal to hospitals.

Well nurses go where you are treated well and where the money is...the USA pays and treats nurses well. Or retire and take your HOOPP and go into a new career.
