Unfortunately, John Stout decided to award nurses 1% wage increase in 2020 and 2021. This goes to show the nursing profession is one that is undervalued. This is truly a SPIT in the face to all nurses.

Please research the increases the provinces are allowing to doctors. This is truly disappointing that amid a pandemic and hearing about nurses lives lost around the world, Ontario only saw it fit to award nurses 1% increase.

Currently, all other unions that represent present porters, clerks,etc are seeing a 1.65% to 1.75% annually and nurses only get 1%. I cannot even put into words the disgust I feel. 

My fellow nurses all I can say at this point is know your value. If they will not pay you what you are worth take your talents out of Ontario. There are many nursing opportunites in the USA and internationally that will pay nurses what they are worth.

It seems Ontario only have pretty words of thanks to pay to their nurses, but are unwilling to back it up with an acceptable wage increase.
