Simon Crafar is a great motorcycle rider and has a lot of technical expertise but it seems he is unable to transfer this knowledge into captivating commentary, he appears to struggle to concisely ask pertinent questions of the riders and lacks the professional aura of a sports commentator, on the other hand in just one event at the Grand Prix of the Americas Amy Dargan did an outstanding job, asking the right questions but also in a manner that not only engaged the audience but also the riders and fellow commentators she interacted with. Amy had people turning the volume up rather than reaching for mute on the remote.

Sports commentary is something that requires an air of passion not awkwardness, Dorna has the opportunity to replace Dylan Gray with someone equally astute and entertaining.
