I was inspired by the petition from Hearts for Inmates of South Carolina. I am so hopeful and excited that this can be done. We are 98,000 plus Strong: 98,000 is the estimated number of inmates in the Florida Department of Correction and we the family are the plus. If at least one person signs for every inmate they will have to hear us, they will not be able to ignore us anymore. We can make reform happen if we unite in one voice. I was doing some research and came across this story: Bastøy Prison: Creating Good Neighbors. I think that the DOC could learn a lot from this. They treat their inmates with dignity and respect.
