For several decades, the residents of Churchill and Gartan have been able to enjoy walking the surrounding grounds of Gartan lake. As of 6 October 2020, the Donegal Education and Training Board have applied to Donegal County Council for permission to erect a new access controlled fence with associated gates and landscaping to the edge of existing access to Gartan Outdoor Education and Training Centre. If successful, it is our understanding that the local residents may have restricted access to walk through the grounds. Please support this cause if you would like pedestrian access to be retained for the benefit of the entire community.
