The City of Orono Publishes Survey to determine future of Summit Beach Park

Background: On Monday, May 9, 2022, the Orono City Council met to discuss a proposed Master Plan for Summit Beach Park. Council Member Matt Johnson requested that Item #8 [Summit Beach Master Planning (Project 22-055)] be taken off the consent agenda and discussed “as there is public interest.”

During the discussion, Council Member Seals clarified a recommendation to “put [a] survey at the front end [of the Master Plan Proposal] to get a pulse on the community.” After hearing feedback from members of the community, Orono City Council voted “approve the plan with the addition of a City survey at the beginning.”
