Petition updateStop the Hunt: End Trophy KillingsStop Congress From Allowing Wolf Slaughter

Thank you for taking action to end trophy hunting of Yellowstone's grizzlies. These beautiful animals are safe for now. But there’s more bad news and we need your voice again.

Spitfire, a matriarch of the Lamar pack, was brutally gunned down this month just outside Yellowstone National Park because Congress stripped federal protection from wolves in the northern Rockies several years back.

Right now Congress is considering a rider to H.R. 6147, the final budget bill for 2019, that would end federal protections for gray wolves in the Great Lakes region as well as most wolves in the lower 48.

This anti-wolf proposal would end any chance gray wolves have of a full recovery, and it would lead to more wolf slaughter.

Americans have supported wolf recovery for more than four decades. This budget rider takes us in exactly the wrong direction. Tell your representative not to vote for any budget bill that includes this dangerous provision to end wolf protections.
