San Gabriel Mountains National Monument is a nearly 350,000 acre wilderness of rivers, lakes, and forests that comes right up to the edge of the LA metro area. This area, in addition to being a haven for wildlife and an important water source for nearby cities, is a recreation hub used by 3,500,000 people per year for hiking, biking, skiing, climbing, hunting, fishing, and just generally finding a sanctuary from the bustling life of LA.  As a person who has been in Boy Scouts for most of my life and who has hiked over a hundred miles all across the mountains, I believe that I can assert for both me and the millions of other people who love these mountains that they should continue to be preserved.

However, Trump has recently issued an executive order, without congressional approval, that call for the review of the San Gabriel Mountains (in addition to 23 other national monuments) to determine which he wants to unilaterally remove protection from and open up to unrestricted mining and logging.

Please help support one of the few large and well preserved natural areas in Southern California.
