Susan Sachs, of Branford, said she thinks it’s a “crime” that the former officers were imprisoned. “I think they were railroaded and they wanted somebody to ‘get,’ and they picked on East Haven,” Sachs said. Robert Trotta, of New Haven, said he believes the East Haven police officers were unfairly targeted while doing their job, and now is this time to rectify the mistake. “As a result, loving families have been torn apart because these officers were protecting the residents of East Haven and surrounding towns,” he said.
