I believe that we should eliminate the practice of docking dogs for cosmetic reasons.   Tail and ear docking is a serious abuse that happens to innocent dogs all around the world. There are over 70 dog breeds that have their tails and/or ears docked for cosmetic purposes. Docking is usually done when puppies are only a few days old! That is absolutely ridiculous and all for what? So the dog can be accepted into a prestigious dog show? Would you dock a newborn baby’s ear?

Docking is painful for the dog,  and makes it harder for dogs to communicate. In addition, it is no longer useful to crop dogs’ tails for farm work or hunting, since most dogs no longer do those jobs. For these reasons, docking should be banned in the U.S.A.
