We need to Ban the cruel practice of pet declawing in the United States. Most people think when they are going to get their cat declawed that the vets are just going to take out the nail, but really the process consists of amputating the ends of the claw which is the equivalent to cutting the finger tips off of a human. It is a horrid procedure and it leaves the cat defenseless and unable to escape danger by climbing. Not to mention if not done properly the claws can grow back painfully deformed. So we need to make it illegal for people to get their cats declawed and illegal for veterinarians to perform the declawing surgery on the animals.
