Dear POTUS and Majority Leaders,
This is an urgent call to action. I am writing to you, a proposal, to help with a broken DCFS, call center hotline. A simple plan that would deter false abuse allegations, yet still allow for caller anonymity to the parents or guardians being called on, but make DFCS abusers accountable for wasting their VALUABLE time.
The proposal is very simple. To make a call to DCFS, a caller has to give DCFS their name and information as well as have a call capture system in place. The caller shall be informed that their call will remain anonymous to the accused before the any report is taken. It's a simple fix that would not deter legitimate calls from being made but deter all these false claims out of revenge that clog up our DCFS systems. It will however, allow for false callers or "revenge callers" to be held accountable by DCFS.
I would like this proposal to be named after Andrew "AJ" Freund (the 5 year old murdered in Crystal Lake, IL) , "AJ's Law". I am a huge advocate of stopping child abuse before it ends like AJ's did, actually to end child abuse all together would be great, but that's a far reach because we have evil people in this world. Please help with my push to get this done and heard by Legislators. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I also am a brother to a little girl that was sexually molested and brutally murdered at age 2 in Waterloo, Iowa, so you know where I get my drive and motivation.
