Petition updateDon’t turn a famous Revolutionary War site into an IHOP restaurantDeveloper making absurd claims about the location of the mass burial of Revolutionary War soldiers

Feb 12, 2017
Hi all. I have to say that I am completely shocked, amazed, and humbled by the phenomenal support we have received from all of you to preserve the historic Fishkill Supply Depot! The number of signatures (65K and growing!) and superb comments are really more than I ever expected, based on similar historic preservation petitions, and many of those did end up winning their fight (see George Washington’s Victory Site at Princeton petition, for one). So it fills me with optimism for our own “victory”! And the good news is that we still have some time before the Town of Fishkill makes its decision on the development proposal, so PLEASE continue to encourage your friends and relatives to sign, and to share the petition on all of your social media platforms! I would really love to see this petition reach six figures in terms of the number of signers. Unfortunately, we are facing a very duplicitous foe (i.e. the Continental Commons developer, Domenic Broccoli, and his cohorts). You will see what I mean when you read the linked, jaw-dropping article from our local Poughkeepsie Journal that spells out exactly what kind of misleading tricks this developer is resorting to, to try and confuse the locals into believing that his property may not be the actual site of the mass burial of Revolutionary War soldiers! Hopefully, these ridiculous actions and assertions are a sign that he is starting to panic and resort to baseless claims to stem the tide of growing local support for the preservation of the remaining grounds of the Fishkill Supply Depot! A heartfelt thank you to every one of you who has helped us by signing our petition!
