Today marks 10 days before the Virginia Beach Planning Commissioners hear a proposal by Bishard Homes to put 5 homes, driveways, patios, plus a private road on these uplands next to Wycliffe Presbyterian Church. If you have appreciated the natural beauty of this property while driving down Great Neck Road over the many decades, please send a prayer of gratitude up to the heavens. This land has served the community well for decades. Since 1966 Wycliffe Church has been its steward.

The new design, if approved, would put Lake Conrad 2 under the control of a private business-the lake would be rezoned as a business park. The uplands will become a sea of impervious surface. This is not protecting the lake, but more on that tomorrow... For today, we just ask for joy that we have been able to enjoy this beauty for so long.
