As Tropical Storm Idalia bears down on the East Coast, where will the heavy rains flow? Lake Conrad 2, part of Virginia Beach's Storm Water Management Facilities has not only absorbed hundreds of thousands of dollars of city investments over the years, but also 30+ acres of runoff from Great Neck Road and surrounding homes, golf courses, churches, and businesses. If the City approves the Conditional Use Permit, a developer plans to fill the lake with dirt and build homes on the new land. The builders plan provides "NO MITIGATION" for this storm water retention pond. Where will the water go? As the citizens have invested so much in this property, the city should return the investment to the Public Interest and not to two private entitieis--the church and the builder.
