Urgent assistance needed in the North Carolina ag-gag bill fight:

Hello Everyone, A new analysis indicates that this anti-whistleblower ag-gag bill would not just suppress whistleblowers who shine a light on animal abuse on factory farms, but also employees in other types of workplaces, such as daycares and nursing homes.For example, if a daycare worker exposed management abusing children or a nurse found a nursing home owner neglecting elderly residents, this bill would give the abusers the power to sue in retaliation! Plus, a new survey found that North Carolina voters oppose this legislation by a margin of nearly 3:1. Even so,the Senate Commerce Committee ignored their constituents and passed it because of pressure from the poultry industry, the Chamber of Commerce and other big campaign contributors that want to cover up abuse. This bill is getting frighteningly close to the governor’s desk, but we can still stop it! Residents of North Carolina: Will you take action now? Simply say that you strongly oppose HB 405, the ag-gag bill, and want the governor to veto it.
