Petition updateDon’t Let Allianz Stadium Disrupt Our Daily Lives – Stand Up for Twickenham

⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE: Make your Allianz Stadium objection legally count!

Dear supporters,

Earlier this week, we shared a standard objection letter template with our petition supporters to send to LBRUT.

We have since learned that the RFU’s legal team may challenge identical "copy and paste" letters and try to get them disqualified.

⚠️ To ensure your voice carries full legal weight, we must adapt our strategy and personalise our submissions IMMEDIATELY.

‼️There have been NO new objections submitted to the council portal since the 22nd of July

🚨 ACTION PLAN

  • If you sent the previous template: please don’t worry!  Submit a short, personalised supplementary comment today using the steps below. It will STRENGTHEN  your original objection, NOT cancel it.
  • If you haven't sent your objection yet: Use the streamlined framework below to submit your personalised objection TODAY!

Personalising your text takes less than two minutes, but it completely blocks the RFU from dismissing your individual opposition.

Allianz Stadium Planning Application PA26/2057

Dear Planning Officer,

I am writing to formally object to the application allowing Allianz Stadium to host an additional 15 major events per year. As a local resident living at [Insert Your Address], I am deeply concerned about the cumulative impact this commercial expansion will have on my household due to the following specific material planning considerations:

Keep ONLY the 3 or 4 points below that affect you most, and delete the rest.  Add 1 sentence of your own text if possible!

  1. Traffic/Parking: On event days, our roads are already gridlocked. I regularly struggle to find parking near my own home on [Your Street Name]. Adding 15 more event days will make weekdays and weekends unlivable.
  2. Noise/Disruption: Noise from stadium crowds on rugby days already disrupts my family's peace. Late-night concert bass and crowd dispersal noise will severely impact my household when my children are trying to sleep.
  3. Anti-Social Behaviour: Increased event days will bring a predictable rise in littering, public urination, and crowd disruption in our immediate residential streets.
  4. Shift Workers / Key Workers: As a shift worker at [Insert Workplace], I rely on quiet weekends and daytime hours to sleep. More events mean constant sleep deprivation.
  5. Local Businesses: As a local independent business owner, stadium event days actively hurt my trade. My regular customers avoid the area entirely due to the total traffic chaos.
  6. Home Workers: I work from home regularly, including weekends and evenings. The bass vibrations and crowd noise from the stadium make it impossible to concentrate or conduct professional calls.
  7. Public Transport Disruption: Buses and trains in Twickenham / Whitton are completely overwhelmed on event days. I frequently cannot get on my usual public transport to commute home safely or on time.
  8. Emergency Services Access: Our street is narrow. When event traffic gridlocks the area, I am deeply concerned that an ambulance or fire engine would not be able to get through.
  9. Essential Deliveries / Care Visitors: My family relies on daily care visits. On event days, carers cannot find parking, delaying vital medical and personal care.
  10. Green Space Damage: Local parks near the stadium are left covered in broken glass, plastic waste, vomit and litter after these events, making them unsafe for dogs and children.
  11. Property Access: I have a private driveway, but event attendees and private hire vehicles frequently block it or park illegally across it, leaving me trapped in my own home.

Mental Health & Well-being: The constant anxiety of wondering if I will be able to park, sleep, or safely walk down my own street on event days is severely impacting my quality of life.

The current cap of 3 non sporting events exists to balance stadium operations with our quality of life. This massive increase shatters that balance. I strongly urge the planning committee to refuse this application.

Yours sincerely,

[Your Name]

Let's make sure every single local person saying “NO” to the RFU has their objection legally counted!

🚨If only 15% of the people who have signed this petition formally object to LBRUT -  that’s over 400 objections - too many for the council to ignore!

Thank you for standing up for Twickenham and Whitton.
