The diversity of our supporters (signing from numerous countries), the professional discourse sparked by this petition, and the growing media coverage prove that this is not an isolated incident. This case now goes far beyond the situation of the Ampera-e.

Automobile manufacturers often believe they can evade responsibility by withdrawing essential functions from owners, sometimes only months or a few years after the sale.

Therefore, the expanded goal of our petition is to urge policymakers to find a systemic solution. We demand a regulation that protects user rights to fully utilize their vehicles without disadvantaging manufacturers.

Our Proposal:

• 10 Years of Free Support: Mandatory maintenance of remote access and related services for ten years from the date of purchase, free of charge.

• 5 Years of Extended Support: An additional five years of service available via a monthly subscription model.

• Open Source & APIs: After 15 years, the mandatory release of source codes and APIs to allow maintenance by third parties or the community.

• Modular Hardware: Integration of modular telemetry hardware with replaceable modems and SIM cards (including eSIM support) to prevent technological obsolescence.
