Last month, a Superior Court ruling sustained the appeals related to the zoning amendments that allowed beer and wine service at Old Mill. While we continue to evaluate what the decision means going forward, one thing has become very clear:
The future of Old Mill will depend on the strength of our community.
For more than 107 years, the small market on Hillspoint Road has been a place where neighbors meet, friendships form, and generations gather over coffee, pizza, and conversation. It existed long before zoning regulations, and it remains one of the few true third places in our town.
But the past two years of litigation have taken a real toll.
The Romanacci operators remain deeply committed to serving the community and preserving the oldest continuously operating food establishment in Westport. Now we need the community to stand with them.
We are asking 150 people to Make the Pledge
Old Mill thrives in the summer, but the off season is much quieter. From mid September through mid June, the business needs about $18,000 in additional monthly revenue to remain strong.
If 150 neighbors shift $125 per month in spending to Old Mill, we can make that difference together.
That might look like:
- A weekly pizza night
- Breakfast and coffee with friends
- Lunch by the beach
- Grab and go dinner for a busy night
- Catering for a gathering
- Gift baskets for friends and family
Make the Pledge
Come into OMG&D and open a $250 house account with a $125 monthly commitment, and you will receive a free Old Mill hat to proudly show your support.
Coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, takeout, or a quick stop on the way to the beach. The small choices we make each week can sustain something extraordinary.
Make Old Mill your happy habit!
Please continue to share the petition, spread the word, and most importantly come down to Old Mill and Make the Pledge.
Let’s make sure no one ever has to say “I can’t believe we lost the Old Mill.”
Thank you for standing with us.
