Friends,
We did it.
After months of speaking up, sharing the story, showing up to meetings, and rallying support, Clarington Council has unanimously voted to preserve the historic Camp 30 Cafeteria Building — saving it from demolition.
Thousands of people signed this petition — not just locally, but from across Canada — proving that Camp 30 is not only a Bowmanville story, but a part of our shared national history worth protecting.
Camp 30 holds national significance as the site of the Battle of Bowmanville — the only battle fought on Canadian soil during the Second World War.
To everyone who signed, donated, emailed, shared posts, attended meetings, and encouraged others to get involved: thank you. Your voices helped change the outcome.
What’s next
While this is a major win, the work isn’t over. The next phase is fundraising — and moving forward with the work needed to preserve, restore, and protect the Cafeteria Building for future generations.
From all of us at the Jury Lands Foundation: thank you for making this possible.
This victory belongs to you!
