Don't cancel JAXX's 'Song of the Wasteland'
The Issue
We are launching this petition to protest the premature cancellation of JAXX’s new manhwa, “Song of the Wasteland,” on Ridibooks, based solely on an introductory chapter. It is inherently unfair to boycott an entire work of fiction without allowing the plot to unfold and convey its true message.
In the official release of Episode 1, the narrative sets the story in 1861, during the American Civil War, and establishes that the protagonist opposes slavery, explicitly granting freedom and financial support to the ranch workers. The chapter’s provocative closing dialogue is clearly a narrative device intended to create historical and dramatic tension, not to glorify human trafficking.
We respectfully request that Ridibooks (RIDI Corporation) and the author consider a global release with territorial restrictions (geoblocking) for sensitive regions, rather than completely shutting down a project that international readers wish to legally support through official platforms. Like any work of historical fiction, a series requires more than one chapter to be judged fairly.
