Firstly thankyou for signing our petition. It has become a real effort to help save the Lagan Valley Regional Park - this tiny site is a canary in a coal mine highlighting the increased pressure from developers on the area with no care for the communities or the environment.

In Early 2023 the developers lodged more drawings with the planning office, again not showing how sewage will be handled (the local sewage works is closed to further development) The drawings show further changes to the boundary planting. Initially there had been a full Ecological Planting scheme which allegedly compensated for the loss of the ancient Hawthorn hedge then developers drawings showed this planting scheme entirely removed. We raised this in our response. The removal of part of the green at Hambleden Park is a new assault on the area in the most recent drawings. Interestingly the repositioning of houses within the site which would facilitate vehicle access to the land beyond the site ties in with rumour of further development coming down the line. So we have written Q3 in response. You can find it on our website Quarterlands.com.
Please share this petition and get friends and family to sign up. We are trying to call a halt to development in the Lagan Valley Regional Park - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The image with this update shows the boundaries of the park, many are surprised to learn they live in the park as many insist the park is merely along the river.
