Petition updateDon't Bin Tin Pan Alley!30,000 reached. Protection for Music Retail & Music Offices now in a legal Section 106 Clause
Save Tin Pan Alley
Aug 30, 2015
But an alarming landlord-developer and architect’s colour coding error citing only 'Music Retail' (in blue) is undermining the actual protection cited in the Section 106 Documentation to protect the street; “specialist retailers focusing on the sale making of musical instruments and other musical industry activities, including studios, artist management offices, music publishing houses and agents” Meanwhile, we concur that ‘Music Offices’ on the second floor level are protected, too, under The Section 106 Agreements. This 106 deal has come about as a direct result of pressure from the campaign, because we know that talk is cheap and written commitment is expensive. But they can afford this commitment. The street will be worth 49 x its purchase price in 2018 when Crossrail opens.Yes £980 million!
