Studies have shown that when a Dollar General opens in a small town, the local grocery store loses an average of 30% of their business.  A loss like that for Chet's would probably not be one they could survive, and them closing would mean losing our only grocery store within 20 miles.

On top of that, there are countless examples of Dollar General coming into a town and taking business from many other small town shops, causing hardship and closures on main street America. 

We the undersigned, strongly urge that Titan Machinery reconsiders selling a portion of their property to the developer interested in building a Dollar General on that site, as well as urge Dollar General to reconsider plans to establish a store in Kingsley,
