Let me introduce myself... my name is Dr. Jim Keen.
I’m a veterinarian over a quarter century of research experience in public health, biomedicine, zoonotic infections, and livestock health and production medicine.
I also participated in the USDA’s taxpayer-funded experiments.
For two decades, I worked for the USDA’s Agricultural Research Services.
Perhaps you’ve heard of my former employer -- it also runs the notorious Kitten Slaughterhouse.
One day, a USDA colleague sought my assistance for a sexual experiment to measure libido in bulls.
He locked a young, female in heat inside a restraint device. She couldn’t escape or defend herself.
Then she was isolated in a pen with six bulls to study how many times they mounted her.
Both of her hind legs were broken. Her Achilles tendons were completely ruptured from the bone. Her pain was indescribable.
The USDA even denied me permission to relieve her suffering and euthanize her. Many hours later, she died alone in agony.
As a veterinarian, I was horrified. As an animal lover, I was mortified. And as a taxpayer, I was betrayed by my government.
So at great personal risk, I blew the whistle on USDA … and exposed the atrocities to the New York Times and the court of world opinion.
Then the heavy hand of government retaliated … and it hit me like an avalanche.
The FBI interrogated me for "terrorism." USDA transferred me over 100 miles away.
And it slandered me; the Director called me "the most evil person on the planet," after 20 years of loyal service.
The government ruined my life … and it broke my spirits.
But let’s be clear about something: it’s nothing compared to the suffering I witnessed at USDA labs.
Let’s be clear about something else: it pales in comparison to the fate of 3,000 kittens burned to a crisp in its government incinerators.
I'm also sounding the alarm because the USDA is going to slaughter and incinerate even more kittens unless we take immediate action.

As a scientist, I can tell you: the most effective way to extinguish any fire is to cut off its oxygen source.
