BREAKING NEWS ! Chronic Pain receives $62 Million in grants.

Great news Pain Community! A few days ago media sources confirmed that $62 million in grants will be given to 5 Pain Networks, for patient- orientated research. These networks include our very own U. of T, U.B. C, Mcgill University and Mcmaster U. in Hamilton Ontario. This windfall could only have been achieved through long term targeted lobbying to have our disease recognized as the epidemic it is in Canada. Currently 1- 4 Canadians are estimated to be living with some type of long term pain that is not expected to resolve in their lifetime. This grant will specifically target reducing profound pain ~while developing new treatments for this type of pain. You can be proud that our own small petition effort contributed in some way to this larger picture of success. Continued media and governmental engagement through community petitions such as ours, are essential to the very fabric of Canadian Society.
