UPDATE

An envelope with the letter, the signatories (1,874 at time of printing) and the comments has been handed over this morning to the PM’s PA by the AEFÉ parent who promised to do this. 

The contents were described by the parent as representing the views of a large number of parents with children in the French system in the UK. 

The parent and I were noted as contacts for the petition. 

The PA assured us that they “will consider every word in the envelope and come back” to us. 

They did warn this may take some time given the PM’s agenda. 

Today’s mission was accomplished. But we are not done.
