Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in Oakland’s democracy. We are approaching 200 signatures. The Oakland Police Department, City Council, and Police Commission are actively listening to community input on the High-Speed Pursuit Policy. Police Chief Mitchell has the ultimate responsibility for any policy changes.

The Oakland Police Commission, a volunteer organization, is seeking your feedback on this important issue. Please take a moment to complete the survey linked below and share your thoughts.

The Police Pursuit Policy remains under active discussion. During the Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, January 15, 2024, Chair Ricardo Garcia Acosta  provided an overview of the current policy.

We invite you to attend the next Police Commission meeting to continue the conversation:

Upcoming Police Commission Meeting:

Date: Thursday, January 23, 2024
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: City Hall (#1 Frank Ogawa Plaza), Council Chambers
Your voice matters, and your input helps shape policies that affect us all. Thank you for contributing to a safer and more informed Oakland community.
