Thank you so much for supporting this petition and keeping it alive. We are over 63,250 signatures and counting!

Although the 51st state rhetoric has died down a bit, the threat of Trump's America has not gone anywhere. Yesterday, his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt said, “The president still maintains his position on Canada: the United States has been subsidizing Canada’s national defence, and he believes that Canadians would benefit greatly from becoming the 51st state of the United States of America.”

Looking at what has happened in the USA since the start of this petition (dumb trade war, mass deportations to a prison in El Salvador, texting war plans, etc) the need to use our collective voice to stand up for Canada is stronger than ever! We need to let our elected representatives know that we do not want to welcome a convicted felon who is threatenting our sovereignty to Canada. The G7 is in Kananaskis on June 17th so this petition is becoming more important every day!

I know some of you might be scared to share this on your social media if you are planning on going to the states. I get it, and I am not sure what to tell you, but please share this petition however you feel comfortable. I don't think this is the time to be quiet.

It would be so great if we could get 100,000 signatures by election day so we can let the Prime Minister know how we feel about a convicted felon coming to Canada!
