Apparently the beginning of 2024 there will be kiosks available.  And from what I read, it’s for registration of Cars and nothing about license is being changed only duplicate and renewals but at the same rate if you’ve already done it, you can’t use the kiosk there and he wasted a day then you gotta run to the DMV

The website (https://www.ncdot.gov/dmv/offices-services/locate-dmv-office/Pages/self-service-kiosks.aspx ) there’s only three and they’re all in different cities and hundreds of miles apart. This could be test models but regardless, they are putting them in grocery stores which means probably a good chance that like the lottery, movie, and other self checkouts hopefully someone will be there to manage them in case they shut down. 
I guess it’s much easier to have a line amongst the other lines in a grocery store rather than people sitting at a desk somewhere, home work, etc. at their own time and internet.
