David Adjmi's play 3C borrows plot elements from Three's Company to satirize the "ideologies and assumptions behind the television series," according to the playwright. It is a brilliant and heartbreaking work that deserves to considered a parody and therefore be protected under the First Amendment exceptions to copyright law.  DLT Entertainment, through their lawyers at Kenyon & Kenyon, have sent a cease-and-desist letter to Mr. Adjmi and Rattlestick Theater, effectively ending any chance of a revival or publication.  We must urge DLT Entertainment to drop the case and end threatening the artistic freedom that should be a given in this country.
