"Ivy Lee, the man who turned around the Rockefeller name and image, and his friend, Edward Louis Bernays, established the first definition of public relations in the early 20th century as: "a management function, which tabulates public attitudes, defines the policies, procedures and interests of an organization... followed by executing a program of action to earn public understanding and acceptance."
"Public relations may include an organization or individual gaining exposure to their audiences using topics of public interest and news items that do not require direct payment. The exposure is mostly media-based."
Since now it became clear for everyone what a PR means, now I'll show you.
Imagine yourself as a guest of a wedding cerimony. You have been invited to go to another country and spend a week with the other guests. It's common for people to share their best moments of their lives on social midia. So, you might think that the people who attend this posted about the wedding at the same week that it happened, right?
WRONG.
The guests only start posting about the event almost 2 weeks later. When did they post then? On the same day that Eletric State - a new upcoming movie that Millie is gonna be part of - shared a few firstlooks (10/01/24). It's important to notice that the Millie's team chose not to share any updates about the movie on her official account. Not even a storie.
On the same day (10/01/24), Jake Bongiovi (the "husband) shared a new AD for Monclair, which in fact, was made thanks to a network of Millie too.
October 2th, after a Florence By Mills AD, the wedding pics were shared by the groom and the bride, with almost identical subtitles. At the same time, more pics were out on Vogue, Elle, and more. And you might think that "Well, if Millie's team did not shared anything about her job in eletric state, then, they would not share something 'private' as their wedding, right?"
WRONG. AGAIN.
Of course, something so (expensive) special would be share as both post and storie, but not without making one more AD, of course.
The final blow was a picture of the groom with both Jon Bongiovi and Robert Brown. The pure image of patriarchy. If you add a picture of the bride being sexualized and another one wearing the groom's tie as leash, then...you have every detail you need.
The whole situation fits on Ivy Lee's definition of PR. As always.
Don't get me wrong: PR's are common. People who work with their own image need a PR. But there is a limit, because there is humanity. If you cross the line, you get a Britney Spears' situation; an Drew Barrymore or Jennette McCurdy. You get exploitation. You get important moments of a person's life with a price tag.
Millie claims she likes privacy. But this is not what we see. We see Millie's career going down in order to elevate a nepokid who doesn't even bother to make clear that everything he is getting, is because he is attached to Millie and not his own father. (If he ever wanted to persue a musical career, then it would be different, but its not the case in here).
We have a BOY who does nothing but lying on his own articles. Like the most recent one, already mentioned on this update.
• "After gaining interest from casting directors, he decided to drop out and quickly dove into new opportunities (...)"
Really? Then why was Jon Bongiovi, his dad, whining about his son's leek of opportunities?
• "It’s hard to imagine this unassuming, passionate theater kid at a frat party or living the stereotypical college experience (...)"
Is it tho? He was not a theater kid. His team might have tried to erase his background and start fresh so people could buy this bullshit, but he was a jock stereotype. Even as a kid!
What about not going to frat parties? Excuse me?
• "Bongiovi believes that perseverance is the key to getting himself on-screen. He says, “Right now, like every other actor, everyone is taking a billion auditions, hoping to crack the shell. No matter what level you’re on, everyone is walking up the hill,” he states matter-of-factly."
So now he is a poor nepobaby who can't get serious giggs not even having Millie Bobby Brown as a wife and Jon Bongiovi as his father. Nothing that he ever accomplished on his so called acting career was because of his "talent". His agency? IMG Models - same as Millie. Hairstylist? Pete Burkell - same as Millie. The list go on and on.
This is "an individual gaining exposure to their audiences using topics of public interest and news items (...) followed by executing a program of action to earn public understanding and acceptance.
A PR.
OPEN YOUR DAMN EYES, PEOPLE!
The Bongiovis and the Browns are the same. Abusers of a poor child-actor, now a young lady, who is being destroyed in order to give someone's else a career. She needs help. Don't wait until is too late. Don't let her be another Britney.
Bonus: Charlie Brown (Millie's Brother) sharing his "funny" thoughts
