Uttarakhand cabinet has decided to close the schools for classes 1 to 12 in Haldwani, Dehradun and Haridwar districts till April 30, 2021. All the educational institutions in the above mentioned districts will remain closed from April 9 to 30, 2021 in view of ongoing Kumbh Mela and the rise in cases of COVID 19 cases. The order was issued by the District Magistrate of Haridwar C Ravishankar today, on April 9, 2021.

In last 24 hours, Uttarakhand reported 787 new COVID-19 cases, 265 recoveries and three deaths. Keeping in mind the increasing COVID cases in the states and safety of the students, the state government has decided to shut schools till April 30. Though, the schools will continue the classes through online mode.
