Eco and Safe sidewalk on Virginia between Robinson and New York Streets

We would like to add a sidewalk that goes down the Virginia St (off of E Robinson Avenue) hill which leads into the arroyo to the El Paso Tennis & Swim Club to New York Avenue to the Phase 2 Robinson Street improvements that are planned. This has been a scary street in the past for pedestrians given that there is really not an adequate road shoulder, combined with the curve at the bottom of the arroyo that makes seeing walkers difficult. As the summer swim league season approaches, more and more kids will also be walking to the club. I have contacted our District #1 Rep. Peter Svarzbein already about this concern. Please sign below to express your support. This petition is not just for those residents living in the Kern and Rim areas, but any El Paso resident who regularly uses the Billy Rogers Arroyo. For the sake of walkers, joggers, dog walkers, hikers, families, and children that walk to Mesita Elementary, Wiggs Middle School and El Paso High School, we urge the City of El Paso to consider the actual and existing uses and value of this Nature Preserve in our neighborhood and our desire to improve it to make it a safer place all can enjoy.
