Petition update

On Misinformation and Results

Veronica S.
Visalia, CA, United States

May 31, 2020 —

First, I'd like to thank every individual who has signed, shared, and reposted this petition. You're all heroes to me. Thank you, so much.

Second, it's come to my attention that apparently none of the passengers in the blue jeep is the child of a police officer. I'd like to apologize for accidentally spreading (alleged) misinformation. That being said, I don't believe that fact changes any matters. If anything, it makes VPD's lack of action even more embarrassing.

We have video evidence, people. Let's break things down.

At around 2-3 seconds, you can see the Jeep brake, and come to a (more or less) complete stop. At 5 seconds, you can see the Jeep rapidly accelerate. After this, the Jeep drives away. You can see the driver smiling (see photo). This is, at the bare minimum, a Hit and Run. I believe this is also an obvious case of attempted assault, but I'm not versed in law.

The Visalia Police Department has given us nothing. They claim to be investigating. I believe a fair and thorough investigation is key to any legal action. If only they had some sort of video evidence that these men commit a crime...

Regardless, thank you again to everyone who has signed and shared, and to everyone who protested yesterday. It was an honor to stand with you all. Keep up the good fight. Make your voices heard.

Oh, and for unrelated reasons, here's the VPD Non-Emergency Line: (559) 734-8117
