Disney, I want to see protagonists, heroes, and princesses that are darker shades of Brown and Black. It’s why so many dark skinned girls saw themselves in Tiana, Isabella, Moana, and other dark skinned princesses. Asha is great, but she could have been better if she was darker. After all, dark skinned Afro-Latina women exist and they are rarely represented. Dark skinned Afro-Latina women matter. Still, thank you, Disney, for including an Afro-Latino family in Encanto as well as an Afro-Latina with beautiful brown skin and braids in Wish.
