Hey Fans!
By now, many of you have heard the bittersweet news Dana gave last night during the art stream with @LordSpew; it's too late for an extended season 3.
HOWEVER; she also reiterated that the letters are helpful:
"The letters, the support, the trending; does it help Owl House get more content? Yes. The more attention we get, the higher chance we get of getting more content and the ability to do more stuff at the studio" (1).
Season 4 is not out of the realm of possibility; less than 12 hours later, Dana liked and replied to this tweet by @childishgamzeno, the Golden Guard's voice actor: "She did NOT however say that it is too late for a Season 4 OR a Golden Guard spin-off" (2). Zeno then tweeted more about the proposed fourth season.
This proves that a season 4 is entirely within the realm of possibilities, and that season 3 is not an absolute cut-off for the series if we don’t want it to be.
I know a lot of fans familiar with the Infinity Train push may be feeling a little dissuaded, but we have to remember that by sending letters and racking up streams on Disney+ we are taking direct action. Like Dana said back in May, they do read letters our letters (3). As we've seen from the unfortunate success of One Million Moms getting progressive shows cancelled and episodes pulled, they also take these letters seriously.
Let's not forget the success of other fandoms before us:
Kim Possible, Family Guy, Young Justice: Outsiders, Samurai Jack; these shows were all cancelled, then brought back by fan demand- and they certainly aren't the only ones (4 - 8) (etc).
DO NOT give up! Our letters and streaming ARE making an impact! Your efforts ARE influential! Keep sending your letters, stream TOH on Disney+ (the first 5 eps of S2 are coming out on D+ USA July 21st). Take your anger and upset and use them to make a point! Let Disney know loud and clear that we want to see more Owl House, and more representation on our screens.
Dana said, "[This is] a battle I've been raging for the last year" (1). Now isn't the time to give up. Instead, let's pick up our pens and join the battle.
