"Funding for the Automated Helicopter Noise Complaint System for Los Angeles County has run out. LAAHNC has joined with local helicopter operators and requested (see letter) that the County of Los Angeles fund a new and improved complaint system. We are waiting for the County’s response. Unfortunately, the COVID virus has put this on hold for now. We hope to have a new system soon. In the meantime, we recommend complaints be filed with the airports of origin or destination. Flight tracking systems can be used to determine which airports helicopters are using. You can use one of the systems listed under the tab Useful Information."
In in Los Angeles (2016), over 100,088 helicopter/plane noise pollution complaints were submitted." https://lahelicopternoise.org/complaints/
We have emailed city controller, council, attorney, etc. to request that this complaint system is re-established at the county level. We are also beginning to work with local neighborhoods to potentially withdraw into intentional townships/districts and out of LA if it comes to that. We need smaller districts in LA with community based support.
