Thank you all so much for your support! We’ve gotten over 670 signatures to support victims! As of May 22, Dirty Hit issued a statement with absolutely no admission of guilt, responsibility, or any apology.

Just to be clear:

1. They didn’t say they won’t work with Powell again in the future (last time in 2017 they fired him and then quickly rehired him for new videos)
2. They also didn’t even have the decency to name Adam Powell in their statement, and just called him a “freelance music video director.” Since they haven’t named him publicly he’s escaping responsibility for his abuse and can continue to work in the industry without people knowing this was him.
3. Dirty Hit said absolutely NOTHING about victims in their statement. Our movement is built on supporting victims, and they have blatantly left them out of the story. 
4. Dirty Hit took zero responsibility for Jamie Oborne, the head of their label, doxxing a victim and trying to make an example out of her to intimidate other victims from coming forward. 
5. They only posted it on Dirty Hit’s Instagram account, not The 1975, any other artist pages, or anywhere on twitter as it would be much more widely seen and shared that way.
6. There’s been no apology from the label or the band. The band hasn’t even acknowledged this as the statement wasn’t shared on their socials and Matty has still been quiet. Even Matty Healy, who has branded himself as a champion for women’s rights, has absolutely nothing to say on the matter
7. They haven’t given us any plan as to how they’re going to ensure this doesn’t happen again, and we have victims coming forward saying that they’ve had similar experiences with other members of Dirty Hit

More and more victims are reaching out to us and we’re still collecting stories on Powell and ANYONE associated with Dirty Hit so we can continue to expose these abuses of power and crimes.
