The end is close and he does not mean his release
Aug 9, 2018 —
Yesterday Oleg Sentsov's sister received a letter from him.
"Everything is not just bad, everything is disastrously bad. Oleg sent me a letter through his lawyer, he almost does not get up. He wrote that the end is close, and he does not mean his release. He asks me whether someone still cares about his hunger strike, as no letters are handed to him! He says that he is now in an information vacuum and does not know what is going on at all.
The ECHR insists on transferring to a civil hospital, and closer to the place of residence. Oleg refused. He said that he would not survive transportation, and in a civilian hospital in Labytnangi, where he had already been in intensive care, he is treated even worse than in the prison hospital.
This is Russia. I can’t imagine what else can be done for his release… Everything is very bad".
Things are really going badly. The appeals of politicians are ignored, the UN Secretary General's appeals have remained unanswered. The petition for pardon, which Oleg's mother wrote to Vladimir Putin, is still unanswered.
We have already done a lot. We wrote letters to all the leaders of European countries, appealed to the President of America. Now it's time to turn to the one who really can release Oleg.
Now 88 days of hunger strike. We don't know how long Oleg will stand. The possibilities of the organism, alas, are not unlimited. One thing is known for sure - it's impossible to just watch how he dies. The decision to pardon - the last opportunity to save the life of Oleg Sentsov.
We must turn to Vladimir Putin with a request to pardon Oleg Sentsov. The more such messages will be, the louder our voice will be! Include in your letter a link to the petition, which was signed by almost 200 thousand people! Let's join the campaign #SaveOlegSentsov and write thousands of emails. Each of them is a small step towards saving Oleg.
