DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK - ANIMAL LIVES ENDANGERED
The Issue
This foal, less than a week old was one of last weeks' deaths in a 60mph area. I have not shown her injuries they are catastrophic. Sadly she is one of many.
Please reduce the speed limit to a maximum of 40mph in unfenced areas within Dartmoor National Park where animals freely graze. Presently some areas remain at 60mph and we are asking that the limit should be reduced to a maximum of 40mph.
In 2017 133 animal deaths were recorded.
2018 from January to May
Sheep deaths 32 and 3 injured
Cattle deaths 3 and 1 injured
Pony deaths 7 and 4 injured
