Make Laws against workplace bullying in India
The Issue
There are no laws that prevent workplace bullying in the form of psychological and mental abuse in India.
Being a victim of abuse myself, I know what it feels like to be psychologically abused. It was difficult for me to even realize that I was being abused. Considering the nature of the abuse, psychological abuse is often called as hidden abuse, because it is difficult to pin point. I am still healing from the abuse but I cannot just sit still. This kind of harassment needs to stop.
I would really appreciate if there were laws that help victims of psychological and mental abuse in the workplace. Though this kind of abuse is difficult to recognize, it has far-reaching consequences. Psychological harassment destroys a person's self-worth and mental health.
A law that protects a person from workplace harassment in the form of psychological and mental abuse is a necessity. Many countries have termed workplace bullying as a criminal offence. Its high time that India also follows suit and proposes a law that protects people from psychological abuse at the workplace.
