Justice for Avni

Justice for Avni
The Issue
We are deeply saddened by the killing of Avni, the tigress who did not deserve such an end. First we encroached her home and then we kill her leaving her cubs orphaned. Was there no other alternative left with the efficient administrators of our state than to kill a mother. Avni deserves justice.
This has to stop. We cannot afford to sacrifice any wildlife in the name of development. The vast destruction of forest land and killing of wild life is causing havoc to the ecological balance and we are inviting our own extinction. Man's greed has no limit. But at what cost?
What right do we have to kill the vulnerable animals so that we can claim their land, their homes, orphan their kids by staging a case against her. Taking advantage of the fact that she cannot even speak for herself, we took her life away.
With such adept forest officials and administrators, who could easily tranquilize her, I fail to understand why forest minister Mr. Mungatiwar ordered killing Avani. The forest officials have dealt with more fierce and furious wild life than Avni. They could have very well tranquilized her and relocated her in a sanctuary.
I fear that they will also kill her cubs who deserve to be protected by us. We do not want to see the cubs meeting the same fate as their mother. Avni deserves justice. Her cubs deserve justice.
