If you are one of the numerous Orange County parents who allow their children to ride their e-bike, moped or scooter without a helmet, you might want to share this story with them and have a serious discussion about the consequences of being involved in an accident without wearing a helmet.
Better yet, talk to anyone who works in our local hospital emergency rooms and ask them about the sharp increase in the number of e-bike, scooter and moped injuries and the severity of those injuries.
Don’t you think it’s time for Orange County to prioritize this issue and pass a local Ordinance mandating safety training for all students and their parents who want to drive one of these vehicles to school?
Please consider signing this petition to help us advocate for safety training being a priority for the BCC and members of the school board to develop and implement this program before our OC students and their families suffer the consequences of driving one of these vehicles and not having a clue how to do so safely.
