Fresh news reporting against immigration in Canada are pouring in from some leaders and activist groups. Increasing unemployment of Canadian youth is alarming and must be resolved as a top priority through creation of jobs suited to this group. However, it is not the foreign temporary workers that pose the cause of the problem, as there is ongoing acute shortage of them across the country. How they are managed is indeed the problem. Irregularities in their managed must be corrected.
Unfolding history will tell how wrong the settlers themselves are to oppose immigration in Canada, given that sustainability, industrial productivity, independence of sovereignty & overall self-reliance of the second largest country in the world undoubtably depend on optimizing a critical mass of its population in the times way forward.
At the same time, immigration must be based on long-term proactive and well-planned projections, rather than arbitrary ad-hoc decisions of the government.
