Southern African Fight For Rhino
Jun 16, 2016
Dear Valued supporters.
As we are fast approaching the time, in South Africa, where decisions are made regarding the well being and safety of our wildlife, ( CITES CoP17, 24th September 2016), I am finally able to reveal that according to a professional, who is in fact, a pro trader, and in effect works against our stance against the trade of rhino horn and of the upgrade to appendix 1, and who works for the largest rhino owner in the world, Mr John Hume, we are indeed HEADING FOR EXTINCTION OF OUR WHITE RHINO!!
"According to Du Toit, there are more than 1 500 but less than 3 000 white rhinos left in the park, and he challenges any ecologist to refute his figures." (Kruger National Park)
Dr.Du Toit has supplied us with concrete scientific proof, of these claims, and as we rhino advocates have been repeating over and over again, the numbers that the DEA brandish about, are incorrect. This is done so as to dupe us, into complacency, and unfortunately, it has been working, as we have seen, as grassroots activism around South Africa, and the constant begging and pleading for people to sign this critical petition.
Try to imagine, please if you can, a planet without rhino?
Imagine your children asking, "but where did they go to?"
And try and imagine what your answer to them would be?
As an African, born and bred, I cannot imagine a continent, without the 'Big Five'.
As an African, I cannot imagine, the people of Africa, now having to only tell tales of 'Tshukudu', 'Ubhejane' 'Umkhombe' 'Tshukudu e tshweu' Kiboko' and so on, around the fires. Stories of this magnificent species, that tragically died out, because some strange country decided that it cured their illnesses!
How they used their horns in the past tense.
How they were slaughtered, with their fetuses, about to be born.
How their horns were hacked off, sometimes whilst they were still alive.
THIS will be Africa's legacy to future generations, if we do not take this onslaught seriously.
I beg you all to please continue sharing and tweeting this petition.
Do not get side tracked, and allow yourselves to be swayed in your thinking.
We are reaching numbers that will impact on us as humans, for generations to come.
In effect, we will have to answer that we did not do enough to save them.
We have also started a site, that works simultaneously with the group of the same name, and this was done, to increase the awareness around the world, regarding the rhino plight. Please visit the site, and invite your friends to join us. THIS IS OUR FIGHT NOW!
