NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission Holds Public Hearing for (Former) Colored School No. 4

On Tuesday, April 25, 2023, the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission held a public hearing for the proposed designation of Manhattan's (Former) Colored School No. 4, in Chelsea. The numerous people who offered testimonies spoke unanimously in favor of landmark designation, and none in opposition. Chair Sarah Carroll noted that the Commission would continue to accept testimonies at testify@lpc.nyc.gov until May 23, when it will make its decisive vote.
