Hello Film Fans and Ahoy! to those aboard the good ship Sabbath.

There has been lots of work in the background going on in our attempts to save the UK's oldest cinema, The Electric, from Glenbrook Property's plans to demolish or replace the historic site with a 50-floor tower of build to rent flats. They've promised and "independent cinema" on the site but with no further details. *Who knows emoji*

There is an independent feasibility study currently ongoing. This will assess the options for The Electric and sees an independent analysis led by someone with a suitable background in this kind of thing.

As part of that our friends at Flatpack Film Festival are coordinating the contribution from those of us who believe in The Electric Cinema as a heritage led independent cinema offer Birmingham can be proud of.

Now WE NEED YOU!

Below is a short survey, organised by Flatpack Film Festival, asking for your contributions. It should only take a couple of minutes to complete. It is Friday so you're probably just browsing the internet rather than working anyway. Might as well do something useful and help save The Electric Cinema.

Thank you for all your support over the last 6-7 months. Although we're still waiting on the Historic England final listing recommendations going to Lisa Nandy as Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport, please rest assured we're continually working hard alongside others like Flatpack, Birmingham Music Archive, Southside BID, BOM - Birmingham Open Media and others to try and protect, revive and revitalise Station Street as a Brummie led grassroots arts & cultural heart of the city.

One that does its unique national and global history justice!

Popcorn anyone?
