President Joe Biden announced today that his administration is officially moving to reschedule marijuana under federal law, praising what he called a "monumental" step.

The Justice Department is expected to post its proposed rules to move cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule II under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) in the Federal Register. A 60-day public comment period will follow.
